FAQs

What is corrective exercise and why is it important to me?

Our bodies are professional pattern-holders. Due to the physical demands of our lifestyles, habits, and the rules of gravity itself, our skeletal and muscular systems become accustomed to constant maladaptive positioning and poor posture. The resulting joint dysfunction and compromised mobility leads to pain or discomfort in the short term and significant wear and tear in the long term. Corrective exercise is the answer to finding the origins of these long-lasting issues, and employing practices to keep our soft tissues healthier for the long haul.

What is a one-on-one corrective exercise session versus a group training session?

For the group/family training packages, each member in the program will meet with me in person for a targeted focus on mobility and corrective movements tailored to their specific needs. The group training sessions on the other hand are focused on implementing the lessons learned in our one-on-one sessions. Group sessions are built around functional strength regimens, so come break a sweat with the SO, the family, or whoever your group is composed of.

Why does every plan have a three-month minimum?

As much as we would love it to be the case, change is not instantaneous. Your program will require consistency in order to produce the desired results. Research suggests that properly forming a new habit takes three to six months. Even though much of the literature suggests the higher end of that range, I decided on three months to give clients the flexibility to continue on if they see fit, but not to be locked in for too long if they need to divert.
